In a health care career spanning two decades, Tim Schmidt has served as the CEO of hospitals in Texas, Illinois, and New Mexico. From 2009 to 2014, he was CEO of Laredo Medical Center, an acute care hospital in Laredo, Texas. Under Tim Schmidt’s leadership, the hospital made significant improvements to delivery of care and became the first Laredo hospital to offer digital mammography and bariatric surgery. For four years in a row, the hospital also earned the Excellence Through Insight Award for Overall Employee Satisfaction.
Most recently, Tim Schmidt served as Interim Chief Executive Officer where he worked on implementing a culture of safety. His professional success draws upon a strong educational background including a Masters of Science in Health Care Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Outside his professional responsibilities, Tim Schmidt enjoys traveling with his wife. The two have made domestic travels throughout the United States including visits to presidential libraries.
